Sunny Beach is situated in the southern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea Riviera. The resort is stretched along a beautiful semicircular bay facing the East. To the north the resort reaches the descending ridges of the Balkan range to create a perfect combination of sea and mountain in one. To the south the small peninsula of the ancient town of Nessebar is located – an architectural and historic monument of Bulgarian and world culture.
Sunny Beach is a holiday oasis with over 8 km long and 30-60 m wide beach strip with fine golden sand, natural dunes, clean sea water and gently sloping sea bottom, calm sea, lovely parks, 1700 sunny hours from May to October. Sunny Beach is awarded with the Blue Flag prize – an award for ecological advantages.
Building of Sunny Beach resort has started in 1958, as today the resort offers more than 300 hotels, children camps and lots of entertainment places. Most of the accommodations are of 3-star and 4-star category, as all of them are completely renovated.
Many cultural events and festivals take place in the resort, such as the festival for popular songs – the Golden Orpheus, the days of the symphonic music, fashion revues, etc.
The resort offers a variety of entertainments: surfing, water skiing, yacht, tennis clubs, horse riding base, bowling, open-air and indoor swimming pools, a lot of restaurants, bars, disco clubs and shops.
Regular bus lines connect the resort with the close towns and sea resorts: Nessebar, Bourgas, Varna, Elenite, Saint Vlas.
